Gregory Day IES, IALD

Gregory Day has been working in professional lighting design and architecture for more than 20 years. He was a Besal Lighting Scholar at the University of Kansas and graduated with honors with degrees in Architecture and Architectural Engineering.

Mr Day first began working with Gary Gordon LLC as an International Association of Lighting Designers intern in 1986. He has completed projects ranging from urban and landscape lighting design to restaurants, retail stores, art galleries, and private residences. Mr Day has significant experience with the day-lighting of building interiors and the interrelationship of daylight and electric light. His projects have taken him throughout the United States and Europe.

Gregory Day continues his inquiry into the study of light and space theory through research, computer-aided design and drawing, and his award-winning paintings. He was recently presented a Ludwig Vogelstein Grant for his paintings depicting light and space relationships.

Mr Day has provided the drawn illustrations for all editions of Gary Gordon’s seminal textbook, Interior Lighting, published by John Wiley & Sons. He is a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers and the Illumination Engineering Society of North America.
